We are a CHAS Accredited Contractor and Safecontractor registered and as such carry out regular internal and external audits of our policies and procedures. We operate a BSI registered Integrated Management System (IMS) for Quality, Health & Safety, and the Environment. Our BSI Occupational Health & Safety Management System complies with the requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007. Our OHSAS 18001:2007 accreditation also covers us under the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP). Our in-house NEBOSH qualified Health & Safety Officer (Technician member of IOSH) provides our employees, operatives and subcontractors with competent advice and is responsible for ensuring that all safety legislation is adhered to and that policies and practices are adopted. Additionally our Health & Safety Officer helps to plan, implement, monitor and review the protective and preventative measures that are required, working to minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries. The Gunite Group Health & Safety Officer is supported by an active Health & Safety Committee consisting of Directors, Senior Managers and representatives who meet regularly to discuss and review our Health & Safety strategy, procedures and regulatory standards.
