Who Is The Gunite Group?

The Gunite Group consists of three family-owned construction companies, Gunite (Eastern) Ltd (including Gunite External Refurbishment and Gunite Infrastructure), Gunfire Ltd, and VirtuScan Ltd, offering external refurbishment, waterproofing, infrastructure repairs and maintenance, passive fire protection, along with 3D scanning of building for the construction industry.

Past, Present and Future

From the start, the vision was to grow the company organically and focus on building an outstanding service and reputation which would in turn generate repeat business amounting to approximately 75% of the work.

The vision remains broadly the same – to do what we already do but do it much better, and look at new opportunities including small main contract works and other specialisms.

The company is now transitioning to a second-generation family-run business with Matthew Otter and Tom Laws running the business’ while Jerry focuses his time running the Groups finances.

If you were to ask the family what they believe has been the main reasons for the success of the Gunite Group, they would say that loyalty to and from their staff is the key, as is building strong relationships with clients and main contractors.

Today the Group’s workforce has grown to over 200 across all four companies, working all over the country. Their mission statement is: To stay focused, introduce new talented staff and operatives and be proactive.

Building A Safer Future

We have always placed the utmost importance on the quality and safety of the works we provide in all sectors, and we have now reinforced that commitment by becoming a Registered Signatory of the Building a Safer Future Charter.

Gunite Group recognises that becoming a Registered Signatory is an important first step towards achieving the culture and behavioural change required in relation to the Charter’s objectives around building safety. In confirming our support as a Registered Signatory, we will now be working to ensure that we embed the principles of the Charter into every aspect of our organisation’s activities.
